Transforming the 10th Chingford Scout Hall
When we heard that the 10th Chingford Scout Hall was in need of some serious TLC, we were delighted to lend a helping hand.
Teaming up with volunteers from Overbury and a wide range of other kind-hearted companies, we were responsible for fitting a new suspended ceiling. Two of our ceiling fixers spent three days installing an Armstrong ceiling grid and 100 m2 of tiles.
The new ceiling was just one aspect of the project to transform the Scout Hall. Work carried out by fellow volunteers included:
- Roof repairs
- New WCs, basins and fire door
- New flooring in the kitchen, WCs and stall
- Lintel and brick repairs
- Decorating and cleaning
Kirsty Sullivan, leader of 10th Chingford Scouts was delighted with the work that was carried out. She said: “You have all been amazing and it will make a big difference to the kids and to the community who use the hall. We are all very grateful for what you have done and all the extras that you have helped fix and provide.”
Well done to the BPC team for donating their time and expertise, and to all the following who gave so generously to this valuable community project:
Overbury, WBS, Ifield & Barret Roofing, Compton Joinery, ESL, Ged Longworth of Prodec London, DW Berryman, MJL Group Ltd, FINELINE SEALANTS LIMITED, DK Cleaning, Bents Plant Hire Ltd and Sam Phillips.
