On Friday 17 October, we hosted our third charity golf day at Stock Brook Golf and Country Club, just outside Billericay. The event was very well attended and our most successful yet – we raised an incredible £14,000, which was split between two charities.
Our chosen charities mean a lot to two of our colleagues. Colin Brown asked for us to support the Children’s Burns Club. This organisation offers support to young burns survivors and their families in the Mid and South Essex NHS area. They help those affected to come to terms with burns trauma and altered body image, and to rebuild their self-esteem, confidence and expectations.
Sultan Ahmed asked us to also support BOSP (Brighter Opportunities for Special People). This charity supports children and young adults with complex disabilities or life-limiting conditions to live the best life possible. The money we raised will help marginalised children to access fun social activities with their peers – which are essential for their well-being – whilst providing vital respite for parents.
