Racing in support the Canary Wharf Contractors Fund

Every year, the Canary Wharf Contractors Fund (CWCF) brings people from across the construction industry together for its much-anticipated Dragon Boat Race. Teams of ten compete in 30-foot boats, raising money for charities that do vital work across London and the UK.

CWCF has supported good causes for more than 20 years. Beneficiaries during the past 12 months have included Demelza, London’s Air Ambulance Charity, St Joseph’s Hospice, Spread a Smile, The Lighthouse Club, Cardboard Citizens, Construction Youth Trust, Variety, First Steps, The Felix Project and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. In 2025 alone, the Fund donated an impressive £200,000.

BPC Managing Director Tom Knight led our team as they joined 30 others on the water at the Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre on Thursday 6 August. While we’re sorry to say that we didn’t bring home a trophy, we finished a very respectable tenth – and had a fantastic time doing it.

Thank you to CWCF for staging such an enjoyable event in support of so many worthwhile causes. We’re looking forward to returning next year and, perhaps, creeping a few places up the rankings!
