“Using Stalsen has given us an insurance that our operatives are protected and looked after. We have also noticed that the gloves are lasting longer which is also beneficial for our budgeting.”
Hand in glove – innovative new partnership with Overbury & Stalsen
BPC has forged a new, three-way partnership in with fit-out specialist Overbury and safety glove manufacturer Stalsen. In Overbury’s northern region, Stalsen is now the preferred supplier for all its hand & arm PPE. This has come about thanks to BPC trialling innovative new safety gloves and providing feedback on how they withstand the rigours of routine construction work.
The gloves have been designed for high levels of dexterity and protection. They feature a double-dipped coating that is not only liquid resistant, but also enhances grip in wet conditions. While carrying out the trial, there were no reported hand injuries and there was lots of excellent feedback from our operatives. Overbury is now trialling Stalsen gloves in its southern region, beginning with an initiative at its 20 Finsbury Circus project.
BPC was happy to work with Stalsen to create the following case study, which we presented to Overbury’s Corporate Safety Improvement Team to demonstrate our commitment to improving health and safety standards within the industry.
Case Study
“BPC are really happy with the Stalsen Gloves. As a major part of our PPE set-up, we find them comfortable, flexible and great for cut protection. Part of our main work is in ceiling voids and forearm protection is essential. Since using Stalsen we have had no reports of any cut injuries, which is a good sign of compliance.
“Using Stalsen has given us an insurance that our operatives are protected and looked after. We have also noticed that the gloves are lasting longer which is also beneficial for our budgeting.”
In additional to trialling Stalsen gloves, we are now partnering with Overbury’s Holly Armitage to place a Navigator – the first self-powered scissor lift – at a key site in the northern region. We will be helping to trial the new equipment and create a case study. Our aim is to trial whether the Navigator makes construction safer and easier for our team.
