If you want to know what determination is all about, BPC Quantity Surveyor Mike Shepherd is the man to ask!
Over the last couple of years, Mike has been on a serious fitness journey. In 2023, he quit drinking, joined a gym and got himself in shape for the 2024 Manchester Marathon. He not only completed his first ever marathon in just over 5 hours, but he also helped to raise £2,271 for The Christie Charity – a fantastic organisation that supports cancer patients over and beyond what the NHS funds.
This year, Mike is back – along with a colleague from Overbury. Together they are going to be running the 2025 Chester Marathon, which takes place on 5 October. This time Mike is raising money for Prostate Cancer UK and he’s got a target time of 3 hours 30 minutes in his sights.
