Join us in applauding Quantity Surveyor Mike Shepherd as he gears up for an incredible feat – running more than 26 miles at this year’s Manchester Marathon on 14th April!
On 14th April, Quantity Surveyor Mike – along with his friend Anthony Morris – will be running the annual marathon in aid of The Christie Charity. This brilliant organisation supports cancer patients over and above what the NHS funds. It does everything from supporting cancer research and funding breast cancer trials through to providing art therapy and wig fitting.
With personal connections to the cause, having lost family members to cancer, Mike and Ant are on a mission to make a difference.
The two friends have been involved in running football teams for the last ten years and, in 2023, Mike completed six months of not drinking and joined a gym to improve his fitness after not training for a decade. Getting ready for the marathon will be a tough slog, but he’s determined to make a success of it.
