Our second charity golf day raises over £9k for St Hilda’s East!

Following on the success of our inaugural charity golf day last year, we’re delighted to announce that our second event has raised a fantastic £9,451 for our charity partner, St Hilda’s East.

The event took place on Friday 5th July at the Stock Brook Golf and Country Club, close to Billericay. It’s a beautiful golf course, cleverly designed by Martin Gillett, and is a pleasure to play.

Despite rain on the day – with just an occasional glimpse of sunshine – we had a highly enjoyable time. Of the teams that took part, one was made up of former West Ham United players Scott Minto, Rob Lee and Alan Curbishley (who also used to be manager). CCF, who were last year’s champions, came second, while a team from Celtic were overall winners this year. Alan Curbishley was kind enough to present the prizes.

The best outcome of the day, though, was raising so much for St Hilda’s East. This fantastic charity has a dynamic community hub, providing a wider range of essential services for individuals of all ages and backgrounds in Tower Hamlets.
